Cast Zealot's Fire on yourself, then go run next to a group of enemies and start casting Reversal of Fortune, Orison of Healing, or some similar skill on yourself repeatedly. It will give you the healing AND it will damage the nearby enemies with the fire damage.

a majority of the heal skills you can use on yourself. Unless it says target OTHER ally, that spell/skill can be used on yourself.
Description for Zealot's Fire
Zealot's Fire - Enchantment Spell
For 60 seconds, whenever you use a skill on an ally, all foes adjacent to your target are struck for 5-37 fire damage.
Zealot's Fire is activated every time you use a skill. The damage is done to foes adjacent to the person recieving the skill benefits.
I get the feeling you are asking this question from a solo-monk build standpoint. Pack Healing Breeze, Orison of Healing, Vigorous Spirit. All three of these skills can be used on yourself and activate Zealot's Fire. They are also the three skills you most need when soloing.

Enchantment are a type of skill. Every thing you can buy at skill trader, ie what you can fill you "skill" bar are skill. Zealot's will work with everything, I even saw it working with warrior stances!
You cast zealot's fire, than go near your ennemies and cast everything you want, on you, on them, without target, won't matter, you will deal damage to nearby ennemies anyway !

enchantment is a type of skill. "Skill" refers to anything on your skill bar.
Zealot's Fire works with Cyclone Axe as well.

like the previous poster said...zealot's fire will activate with pretty much everything in your skill bar. I've seen a few skills that won't activate it...but hell even Mending, Balthazars Spirt and Balthazars Aura activate it....Zealot's Fire activates Zealot's fire. Just use the skill then stand near something and use a different skill....you'll see it take damage away from the foe's in your adjacent radius.

Nope. Any skill that targets you (if Zealot's fire is on you of course) will activate Zealot's Fire. As someone said, even warrior stances will activate it.
Just a reminder: a skill is everything that can go in your skill bar. Enchantments, Attacks, Spells, Stances, Nature Rituals, etc are just types of skills.

Zealots fire activates on anyone that's you're using a skill on. Cyclone axe doesn't work.
Skills/spells that target multiple people in your party only will trigger on yourself (like watch yourself or aegis).
The best use of zealots as a main offensive weapon is using fast casting spells with no cooldown and low costs (divine boon and draw conditions).

Cyclone Axe works. It's a spell that's used on yourself. If you hold CTRL and use Cyclone Axe without any target it'll say "I'm using Cyclone Axe on (your character name here)". So if you have Zealot's on YOURSELF and you use Cyclone Axe, you'll deal more damage. If you use Zealot's on OTHERS, then Cyclone Axe doesn't work.
It's a weird warrior skill.

Now... (I'm not trying to be pesky here, just curious) is a signet as skill, or is it actually a signet?
I always imagine them as being like some kind of bling-bling your character is wearing, which explains why they don't cost energy to use..
Just wondering, because I swear I've seen a couple of things in my skill bar that didn't activate Zealot's, and now that I think about it, they easily could have been signets.

Signet's are Skills.
Taken from the backside of my GW Quick reference. Skill Types: Attack, Spell, Enchantment Spell, Hex Spell, Signet, Preparation, Trap, Shout, Stance, Glyph & Nature Ritual.
Every spell/signet/etc in the game is a skill - it's just that they are seperated into different type's of skills.. but they are still skills. At least thats what the GW Quick Reference & Manual say...

And we told you that you didn't have to worry about it.
When I run Zealots, I just spam Reversal and Orison while keepign Essense Bond on me to compensate for energy. Then you can use symbol and balth's aura (since they trigger zealots) for a ton of damage around you.
And there is a basic idea for farming.
